Body Filler --- looking for one that isn't too "draggy"

years since I bought body filler but doing a Tintop repair on sill nasty bash which I have pulled out as much as I can and filled with filler. I used both Metallised U-Pol and P38 filler and have the profile right and just need a final skim of filler. I have found the U-Pol very draggy and P38 must have changed because it was no better I can't find the old stand by Plastic Padding "Elastic" locally so any recommendations ?

I've been using Upol D metallic on the Jag instead of lead loading - cos I can't do it.

Very smooth application, clog free standing providing it is fully set, and strong, I trapped the seatbelt buckle in the door after I'd evened the gap and it didn't chip.

You'l probably need to find a decent factor who stocks it, I paid £16 for 1.1 kg.

I think we used to put acetone onto the spreader to stop it dragging.

Also, we used a plastic bag to push it on when we wanted a thin coat.

I'm going to have to try that Dolphin Glaze for the final finishing, got to be more economical than coat after coat of primer filler...

I use stopper for the last coat when I need it but usually get away with a thin skim of Upol easy sand, the Smooth 7 stuff.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Interesting I will google it, trouble is the neighbours would report me to the conservation police if they saw me taking a large marine mammal out the boot :-)

Just chuck abit of fibreglass resin in whatever you've got,I've never had no problems, makes it loads easier and workable for longer.

You can do it quickly. You can do it cheap. You can do it right. – Pick any two.

The body filler from Screwfix is fanatstic - very easily applied, and no dragging.
