Gravity feed or suction spray gun
Which is better, a gravity fed spray gun or a suction spray gun? Why?
My compressor has got the capacity to drive either.

Gravity fed for doing the roof !
Larger quantities always 'felt' better suction fed due to balance etc.

its is more on the price you want to pay ,as they cost around the same to buy and what compresor you are going to use eg ,hvlp (high presure low
volume can spray at 40psi where standard spray guns need around 80psi so most small compresors cant do 80pis for more than 5 mins before you loose
preasure.
so i would think about your compresor first then the spray gun.
ask some advice at your local spray paint shop.
you can pay anything from £10 to £300 for a good spray gun

i am happy with a gun i paid £15 new from ebay and i have a £150 DeVILBISS gun i never use as i get good results from my cheep one.(buy a second cheep
gun for primer is a good idear also)

For comfort you can reasonably get 500ml in a gravity gun whereas you can easily use a litre in a suction fed gun. I much prefer gravity guns but you
need to fill more often.

hi folks
with the cost of 2 pack paint these days you realy need a gravity gun, it lets you use every single drop, not like a suction gun needing
about 1/10ltr to suck up consistantly.

Gravity gun every time, nice balance, more control, less chance of accidental touches, more economical.....
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

For small areas and occasional use the gravity gun is easy to use, easy to clean & uses all the paint.
Vastly experienced, I am - I've used a suction gun once (on my chassis) and a gravity gun once (high build primer on the electric racecar
I'm working on with a local school)
