Please recommend me a super dooper etch primer
Having spent about 5 hours sanding my bonnet plus my fingers, I need to apply a good primer, one that is going to etch the aluminium where I have went
through the paint but also to isolate the previous paint layers as I have a nasty suspicion that their dying to react with any new paint, I’d also
like one that is quite high build. Ok so I’m being a bit over demanding here I know. It’s going to be a very shiny dark red metallic so it needs to be
– perfect…
Can anyone recommend a spray can type or one suitable for a low pressure gun? Preferably one I can order off the net.
Thanks.
Oh my hands really hurt now

I always use U-Pol etch, used it with cellulose, acrylics, synthetics etc. on ally plastic glassfibre and steel (race rep motorcycles) never had
compactibility problems and has good filler properties.

I use UPOL Acid etch #8 fantastic paint, but it seems to react with most other paints, so that's probably out...

I've used the Bilt Hamber Etchweld on various surfaces with success including brackets, engine block etc on my kit car.
