Halfords sell,
Autosol
Peek,

Autosol being the more abrasive one of the 2.

It depends on the starting state of your panels as to what you use.

Do a search on here for ally polish and you will find plenty of advice, i particularly like the advice involving plain flour! mad or what

good luck its a bitch

Yes stu, tried it and its magic, cuts about 1/3 off my polishing time, so i am now measuring it in days rather then weeks

Brasso

I use brasso neat, 1 bottle usually lasts 2 or 3 polishing sessions. Am still trying to find something to protect it after polishing, no luck yet, any suggestions????????????????????

Alu-magic

Has anyone used this stuff? It supposedly protects after it polishes!! One of the kitar magazines rated it quite highly a couple of months ago??!!

what's the idea with using flour to polish stuff? do you sprinkle on a bit while using autosol / something else as well, and a cloth?

Nah,

Polsh on as normal, when you get to the satage of wanting to polish off, dipp your cloth in flour and then polish off, easy peasy!

I use Peek when I can be bothered to polish. I bought 2 tubes thinking they would just do the bonnet and the first one lasted ages. I,ve just started the second one. Are you using plain or self raising flower, I think the wholemeal stuff might be a bit too grainy. It gives me gas as well. You can use the Peek on painted surfaces as well, a bit like T Cut but thicker.

yours, Pete.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

From my experience peek is more of a finishing polish and autosol is more abrasive and will cut through the oxidisation far more easily than peek. Try it on a not too obvious bit first and see how you go.
