Door hinge dilema

I'm getting to the stage where I have to make some doors for my new project (see here). The roof lifts up a bit like a bond bug to allow entry but for use in car parks and garages, the roof will have 2 stops, one fully open and one part open. To allow easier entry when part open, I want the doors to hinge on the A pillars and have some sort of catch onto the roof on the inside, right at the back to stop them flapping open.

Suggestions for hinges are welcome but I'd really like some ideas on a catch. It has to be SVA proof, be simple to open, ideally click shut on its own and keep the door shut once engages. Any ideas?

What I'm looking for is perhaps a round bar with a notch cut in it and a hole with a yale lock thing on it so that the bar latches in the hole. I want a button or lever release rather than a key or twist thing. Anyone come across something like this?

Perhaps you can have a look at camper van roofs (westfalia etc) these have clever hinges
