Wet Weather Gear
I am getting near completion of my kit and I am thinking of modifying my screen top to accept a bead for a roof by adding a slotted piece of tube. Has
anyone done this before and if so any advice plus any pictures?
thanks

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

I'd definately wait until after SVA/IVA. In fact I'd remove the screen

What is the big deal with SVA with the screen? I have wipers, heater etc already fitted and I know that it will be easier without is it that much of a
challenge to get IVA approval with the screen? Westfield and Caterham do it so hopefully I should be able to! I'm sure I will be back with my
tail between my legs but to be honest I would like to have my car approved as safe with the screen on it!

best way is a piece of awning rail from caravan shops.

well, its just the whole thing of it being less to worry about without a screen. but you're right, if you want to siva it with a screen, then it
is a good idea, but with a roof, and any kind of channel strip on top of the screen, its sharp edges, so go with a screen if you really want to, but
def don't do a roof til after

Take a look at a Frog-eye Sprite, they have a channel in front of the windshield that a flat 1/2" piece of stock fits into. The flat bar is sewn
into the leading edge of the top.
