I got thinking if this would indeed be possible. If you could come up with an arrangement that puts the wipes in such a position that they do not "overlap", getting them in sync would not be a problem. I'm thinking to have the motors near the center of the scuttle and then park the wipers to the sides so that (in operation) they would meet in the middle of the screen.

Could this work?

(ps. I'm talking Post IVA, so no swept area requirements)

Are you thinking about using those on the windscreen?

mounting them would be a reall bugger....

You would be better off with the mini cable driven system... you could use 3 of 4 short blades all driven by one motor if you wanted like morgan do

it would work but from memory the spindles are smaller and would only allow you to use headlight wiper blades, they could be a bit small, this is what i was going to use on mine but i needed 2 speeds for sva.
they should run at the same speed and therefore in sync

Probably do for Sopwith Camel aeroscreens or a helmet visor.

2 speeds: run them in series for the low speed and in parallel for the high speed. Problem sorted ;-)

Anyone know of a car that has windscreen wipers with a decent sweep? The ones on my Volvo are something like 30-45 degrees only. I guess for a windscreen application you'd need nearer to 90 degrees.

Remember: these would be for emergency use only....
