Stripe removal

Hi chaps,

Im interested in a car but it has a stripe that im not too sure about yet. If it was in the middle I would probably just replace it with a white one, anyway, it is a vynle stripe, my question is how much of a pita would it be to remove, and will it have affected the paint underneath?

Don't you remove these stripes using boiling water to soften the adhesive?

^^^ what the hairdresser said

the paint may be affected in 2 ways:
a) the glue may have reacted with the paint - unlikley but ....
b) paint under the strp will be darker due to not being exposed to the sun

My main issue would be how much power it will lose when you take the stripe off, of course if you are replacing it with one of equal thickness, all being well, it'll still shift.

It shouldn't be that bad underneath though, I don't think it's a colour that is easily affected by the sun, could be wrong though but I should imagine a quick polish once it's off should see it right if you're not replacing it. I like it though.

I just T- Cut the wifes pink ka as it was so flat it looked almost white, it's come up amazingly well, and don't forget, T-Cut is only £1.24 at the moment in Tesco petrol stations, lol
