getting a decent grip with a rubber lined p clip
Morning all
Trying out another daft idea last night which for once may actually work. My problem is I'm trying to secure a reasonably light weight item to
a 20mm diameter tube. I'm trying to use a 19mm rubber line p clip though even when tightened fully it'll still easily slide round the
tube.
Is there anything I can apply to the p clip or tube to make it grip much better?
Any ideas much appreciated as normal
Thanks

Sorry should of mentioned that it would be handy to have the sub assembly easily removeable hence using a p clip, which rules out sikaflex.
Thanks though.

How about the stuff that is used to make fan belts more grippy?
Cheers,

Wrap some ptfe tape or apply a release agent before using Sikaflex on the P clip.
You should then be able to remove the P cilip once the Sikaflex has cured.

Wrap some electrical tape around the tube before you put the p-clip on, to make the tube dia a bit bigger

This gets my vote too... I find self amalgamating tape is ideal, as it is slightly sticky/grippy to the touch.

What are you actually trying to secure? Can you use a pair of jubilee clips and small brackets?
