Seized Sump Plug
I have a sump plug on my Zetec-SE engine that I cannot remove. I used loads of PlusGas but I cannot move it.
The 13mm bolt head is pretty much rounded now. I've tried putting a smaller socket on but to no avail.
Any ideas on how I can remove it, I have a replacement plug waiting? I don't have access to a welder !

heat it up with a blow lamp then mole grips and a whack with a knocking stick
Life is like a bowl of fruit, funny how all the weird looking ones are left alone

Grind some new flats on it.

Hi
Not sure if you can on your sump plug, but if you can don't put the mole grips on the rounded nut, use them on the larger round part of the
plug. Hope this make sense, and use good quality grips

my father in law, used a hammer and chisel in an anti clockwise direction to loosen something recently, might be tricky to attack if its in a car
though.
