lotus colours

Hi All Anyone know the colour code for the yellow 'lotus' colour? I want to use this,and poss. British Racing Green on my Locost . Rod

This site will give the code for any colour on any car. Go to special search and choose Lotus. It will also give you the formulation to mix the colour from a Standox mixing scheme

Don't be tempted to choose any colours with 3C against them, they are 3 stage solids. That is where you put down a pale basecoat, then apply layers of dyed clearcoat to build up the colour density, then cover with a standard clear.

The colours are VERY bright, examples are Saxo mango orange (you know the one!), and the latest Elize yellow.

They require great skill and lots of very expensive equipment. Definitley not a home job.

From what I've seen of the colour chart from GTS,There appear to be 3x yellows to choose from . I think I will go for one of those for the wings,and have the other existing bits painted in as near a match as poss.,rather than try to get a specific colour for the gel coat . ROD

Your local bodyshop should have a spectrometer (a bit better than the ones at B&Q!!!), and should be able to make an exact match

The original team Lotus yellow was a 60s Citroen Colour.
