Sierra hub clamp bolts + wing stays?

Started fitting the wing stays today - fun job that is trying to bend them to the right shape

The MK stays bolt onto the Sierra front hubs using the bottom ball joint and the clamp bolt for the mushroom adapter. I found that M12x60 bolts were not quite long enough, but M12x70 bolts have the same actual thread length, so don't wotk either.

What I'm trying to ask is...can you use M12x70 set screws instead?

They are still 8.8 strength rated right!

Cheers
Nick

As long as it says 8.8 or more, anything will do, even if it's too long and you have to cut it down - as long as it's the right diameter.

My preference is always socket caps, but there you go.

That's my thinking too, just looking for some more opinions.

Can you get socket cap sets screws?

Don't think it will really matter if it has a full thread or a shoulder as it is only acting as a clamp in this situation. You can get socket caps with a long shoulder that will fit if it makes you feel better.

Cheers Pat,

I'll use set screws as I've already got some.

By the way did you say that you grew up in Salford?
