Great thing about crappy rubber catches

There have been a few posts on the rubber catches letting go recently, but in our situation, that can only be a good thing.

The bonnet was also held on with a strip of gaffa tape on each side - just in case.

So that when your cycle wing mount breaks in the middle of no where, you can spend 10 minutes thinking of what to do and saying sh1t sh1t and sh1t before rembering the gaffa tape on the bonnet.

Can only be a good thing.

Pat...

10 minutes?

those 10 minutes felt like hours!

it's the only positive thing i've had out of fitting those bonnet catches (apart from getting through sva)

i usually carry a roll of gaffer tape, just to collect some of the grit from the floor if nothing else, but because i was taking pat out, i'd tidied the car, and taken all the crap out from behind the seats.

it was one of those classic moments when a light comes on, and you see the solution.

looks like i've got some welding to do then!
tom

it could've been worse, we could have lost the cycle wing, and had to fork out more brass to dax! GO SIKAFLEX!

Sikaflex is great for holding the wings onto the stays but it doesn't stop the stays from breaking.

Contents of any good tool kit - WD40 and gaffa tape or cable ties.......................if it doesn't move and it should then WD 40 will fix it and if it does move and it shouldn't then cable ties or gaffa tape are just the job.
