Bonnet Heights?

Have been measuring up for my Zetec conversion, its all too tall!!! , I need a very shallow sump, and maybe a different nosecone.

Can anyone who has Locost Book body work from anyone other than Caterham, have a measure and post the height at the rear centre above the chassis tubes.

The Caterham nose is 165mm above the top tube....

Could be a Zetec on Ebay soon!!!!!!!

i've asked this question a number of times and never got an answer off anyone!

Stuart Taylor nose cone is 165mm from the top of the chassis to the bottom of the nose cone bonnet lip. (NS Dev measured his up for me).

I believe but haven't got the measurements that GTS and MK do there's with an extra inch height. Have you tried calling them?

Stuart Taylor book bodywork (bought 2 months ago)

(measurements taken from top of top chassis rail height)

190mm to top of nosecone.
160mm to bottom of nosecone flange (which could be trimmed back).

Cheers
Gary

MikeR - sorry never saw your post or I would have measured it for you

GaryM - thanks for speedy answer , any chance of a photo of that back area of the nosecone?

That may get rid of 25mm of my problem!!

My MK cone is 190mm max at the lip though this could be trimmed back to 195mm.
Even so I have raised the cone on two additional 25 x 25 RHS packers and now think I'll have about 3.5" of clearance with an Escort sump.

Stick with the Zetec

Mick

Edit: These dimensions are clearances for the engine not the physical size of the cone.

I've got the later nosecone from Locost Ltd., which I believe is the same as that now supplied for the Luego Locost. It is 195mm above the top tubes (to underside of bonnet).

Hope this helps.
