Real men have ALI bonnets

Ah plastic bonnets are the easy way out.
Real men have aliminium bonnets fashioned round the nearest lampost and shaped with a thousand curses............coming soon real bonnets

...unless you fill in the engine bay (with engine in) with plywood, hotmelt glue, plaster and body filler, paint it, wax it and pull a mould then lay up your own bonnet!

So true... If I ever did it again there would be NO fibreglass......all ali for me, but it was my first attempt at fabrication, and like all of us, we have learnt soooo much and gained in skills!...

I'm currently running a survey for bauxite for my next project, but failing that I'm also collecting aluminium drinks cans. I'm planning to empty a few more shortly

Ive just made one out of Bakelite for that real retro look.I was also going to make my headlamps out of discarded coconuts.

Six months or so and you'll all be copying me.
