Help!! Made another mould but....
the blooming buck stuck to it.
Rescued the mould but the buck is a write-off.
However, I need to make another mould similar to the first but with the edges expanded and contoured to the Fury bonnet.
I was going to just prop the original buck on top of the engine and expand it down to meet the bonnet.
This obviously is now a no no as the buck is in lots of smallish bits.
What's the best way to pull a buck from the mould? As I see it, I've got 2 options...
1) Pull a part from the mould, fill with plaster of paris and expand
2) Fill the mould with Plaster of Paris and pull a new plaster of paris buck
Ideas, please? This is starting to wee me off something chronic and I've got the week off so really want to get this finished....

If you are going to take a mould of a complex buck, then you will have to create a mould that seperates into pieces.
1) Look at your buck and try to work out how many pieces will allow you to remove it easily.
2) Create a flange out of some hardboard that has a shiny surface on one side.
3) Tape the 'flange' to the buck where you want the join to be.
4) Use some mirror screw domes on the shiny side of the flange and glue them to it. These will create a key to line your mould up.
5) Use plastercine to fill in any small gaps and apply mould release wax.
6) layup your Gelcoat and matt etc as normal, but over the flange as well.
7) When set, remove the Flange material, apply mould wax and layup the other half.
8) Before splitting the mould, drill some bolt holes around the flange joint to make assembly easy.
You will find that a couple of screw drivers will seperate the moulds and the mirror screw keys will re-align them when you re-assemble it.

That's all good advice, but the buck isn't complex - it's a simple (if large) bulge....
Anyone any ideas on a quick way to make a new buck from the mould?

I was going to suggest use a blue plastic coat hanger but see you've worked that one out
