Bonnet Cutouts
Gents:
What are your thoughts on cutting out bonnets vents such as so? My thought is that
they will look like an exhaust surround and will be backed by some perforated mesh. My concern is that it will create vacuum and such the air from my
engine. What are your thoughts on the aesthetics of such an idea?
Finally, how much more difficult will it be to cut the bonnet after paint? I'd like to paint it first to see how she looks before I perform
surgery...

Chris,
Is this for clearance of an air filter or air box or something?
Easier to cut out before paint - less chance of damaging the paint job imho..
Ned.
beware, I've got yellow skin

If you're gonna do it, do it before painting.
If you cut it after painting you will start the paint separating and water will start to get in and lift the paint edge.
I don't think you will have any problems with vacuum as there wioll always be the incoming frontal air to compensate. I guess it will help with
low speed cooling though.
