Cracked RS2000 Alloy Sump.
I’ve got a crack in my RS2000 alloy sump (bummer!!!!)
Has any one tried to weld aluminium using aluminium wire in their MIG welder?
Or has any one tried the Lumiweld Kit from Frost Restorers equipment?
Cheers in advance,
The Baron.

There was a lot of good comments about 'Alutight' at Detling show, low melting point aluminium welding with a blow lamp, kind of super
soldering I guess , similar to 'Lumiweld' it was £25 a metre .

I have welded my ali sump with my mig welder.
Secret is cleanliness & a very high wire feed rate in comparison to welding steel.
With a bit of practice fairly good results can be achieved

Where abouts in South Glos are you Baron? I live in Thornbury but more to the point so does my Dad. He's a TIG welder and might be able to take
your sump to work and sort it out for you.
Send me a U2U and see if we can arrange something. (No promises until I speak to my Dad though).
