blasted mirrors! MK Indy

On my 3rd set of mirrors and still not happy.

Dunno if its a height thing - being 6ft6??

She originally had fitted a pair of racetechs - could see next to nothing in them - far too small

I then bought another set - more sensible but still struggled to see over the rear arch. I'd mounted as high as I could on the side, best I could do on the flatish - contouring the bodywork

I orderd up some 140mm stem CBR600 thinking that they'd be a peice of p1ss to fit and get me well clear of arches - But I still cant position em right to match the contour of the scuttle?

When I do get somewhere near, the base is at such an angle that the pastic/rubber stem cover is so screwed up one end and showing the innards at the other ?

I know guys out there have these fitted - how did you get them to fit and look right?.

Cant help but think that I'm over looking the obvious - but cant put my finger on what!

Cheers

James

Only one, wide angle, placed centered on schuttle, works best for me.

I find only the nearest area back of the car/side is of interest, so wide angle is ok.

Single point mounting

Got a pair of these (see below) from NFAUTO. They have a single point of mounting so doesn't matter about the contour. I've covered about 400miles in them so far and they haven't loosened or lost their position...and they clear the rear arches on the Viento! The stems are fixed to the scuttle and the whole head of the mirror swivels. These would be my recommendation.

We had to make a wedge to give us the correct adjustment/contour.

I'd looked on your site but only on the rebuild section, so I'd missed it.

Looking through.....

Wow, That car looks stunning - all the little details etc

Sadly MK Sportscars do not do these. We made them ourselves.

Got to admit i had a nightmare myself fitting mirrors on the MK scuttle, now i have the screen on the mirrors have moved up the pillars so they are much better now.

I'm pretty sure the angles on each side of the scuttle are not identical
