cycle wing brakets
Hello again , does any body know if there is a s.v.a regulation for the curvature of cycle wing brakets , was going to make them out of 4mm steel ,
is that ok?
Or if any one has a set going cheap then please let me know .
Many thanks

The only SVA regulation that would affect the wing brackets, would be that they are rounded where a 100mm ball could touch them during the test. Hope
that helps Regards Ray.

Mine were 4mm and having had to repair them 3 times in 2,000 miles I'm going to make new ones from heavier gauge steel. Do a search and see for
yourself how often they break . Best of luck

confussed , what do you mean by a 100 mm ball can touch them , surely a flat peice of steel would be no differant than a rounded one , correct me if i
am wrong
Many thanks

I too had a problem with the Stuart Taylor (similar to Lolocost) bracket breaking after about 1300 miles. The original flat strip was only 3mm thick.
I had it rewelded together, then all the arms strengthened by welding a 4mm strip of steel on the inside of the original flat bar, so it's now a
total of about 7mm thick. I think if you use 6mm thick flat steel you should be a lot better off than
4mm.
