I'm wondering something similar - how to get the curve at bottom front of the ali. How tight a radius have people used?

Early aeroplanes had a canvas skin that was varnished with "dope" to make it rigid. If all you want to do is to keep the weather out it
would be fine. And light. You could use denim instead of canvas. How cool would that be?

I wondered about that as well until I saw the f/glass version that GTS do. It was on CaLviNx's build and is just a right angle and looks
fine.
Check out one of his posts for an idea of how it looks.

Now's your big chance to try forming aluminium. All the 750 Motor Club cars had hand formed aluminium bodies long before this new fangled
fibreglass came along.
An aluminium body is lighter than fibreglass and very much more individual.

That does depend on how thick the fibreglass and aluminium are. For the same thickness, GRP can be quite a bit lighter.

Cooler than a floral print anyway.

But is 1.2mm thick GRP a practical option?

I made mine out of ally. Fixed the top edge and down the side and then pulled the free end under the car. Let the panel take its own curve. Clamped it
in place and riveted it up. Quite easy.

I bent these curves around the propshaft, the rear corners were bent around a argon bottle and the bonnet large curves were bent around a oxygen
bottle.
Always pick something of a smaller raduis than you need as it always 'springs back' a bit
