Caterham windscreen glass

Years back I bought a 2nd hand Caterham windscreen to put on my Locost post SVA. Of course in the meantime it got put under something heavy enough to break the glass (it already had a fairly big stone chip so no major loss but still annoying)....

If I get a new one made up by RAC glazing, Autoglass etc do they fit new rubber strips to inside the trim and at the bottom where it goes onto the scuttle?? The rubbers on my screen are perished and cracked..

I know from the recent thread that I can get one cut to size at a local glass shop- the only problem is I'd have to source the new rubbers and I don't particularly want to have to buy some from Caterham direct considering their prices for spares In addition, at one point they made you show the V5 before they'd give you a new windscreen glass to prove that you were a Caterham owner (presumably to stop us Locosters from using the screens)!!!!

It was a heated one but I'm going for a non-heated replacement as I'm fitting a lightweight heater and the replacement heater element glass are crazy money...

conrodkid posted recently about getting a Panda flat screen cut down.

If you can't get any (cheap) joy from Cateringvan, Woolies do all manner of rubber sections - should be something suitable.

LOL!

Autoglass say they'd do a non-heated one for £504.
They did say they'd give me a 30% discount so £356 cos I'm so nice..
Now where's the nearest Fiat Panda?!?!?

Blimey, Caterham only charge £270 for their heated one, and throw in the frame and rubbers for free.

Yeh- I just rang them. They do an unheated plain sheet of glass for 70ish quid and the new rubbers for 1.50 a meter. I'll just have to along in a Caterham jacket or something to make them think I actually own one....
But I'm going to pop to the local glass shop to see if they can do one to BS whatever....
