Front mudguards - alternative mounting??
hi, i took my locost out for its first road test today and noticed that the front mudguards are wobbling about alot. The mountings are as standard
using dimensions from the book... is there an alternative way of fastening them on?
Cheers
Matt

Are the wings wobbling away from the mounts, or are the mounts themselves wobbling?
I used to have what I think are fairly standard mounts (triangular plate + tubes with flat bar welded on) on Cortina uprights and like many people I
suffered first from wobbling, then with breaks. After several attempts to beef them up I ended up making new ones from much thicker bar (no tubes) and
used the triangular mounting plates to align them. No problems now.

Its the whole mount that is wobbling, they are made to book dimesions and bolted on to sierra hubs. I think i will beef them up as you suggested.
Thanks alot

Here's my post on the new mounts I made. I used 1/8" x 1/4" (c 29mm x 6mm) bright steel bar... so far, so good.

The problem went away fro me when I did this.......
The two arms are joined together by a bit of flat bar with a hole big enough for the top ball joint too pass through......
