To bond or not to bond ?
This may be a stupid question but I just need some confirmation.... I'm about to start panneling my Striker and was wondering do I need to use a
panel bonder or sealer when fitting to the chassis, it mentions nothing in the build manual but I know I have seen some post's on here about
bonding ?
Thanks,
Kosmo.

Bonding panels on is a good idea. Makes the chassis much stiffer than rivetting alone. Infact, if its done properly you can avoid rivets (but
personally I wouldn't trust myself to do it properly).....
Only downside (other than the cost of a couple of tubes of Sikaflex and the minimal weight) is it makes removing the panels more difficult in case of
crash damage.... but its worth it...

Don't forget that it ensures your panels are waterproof too - mind you if you get caught in the rain it means the water can't drain OUT
either

OK... next question, where's the best place to get Sikaflex from and what type did you use ?
Thanks again, Kosmo.

Your local motor factor or paint factor - not neccessarily Sikaflex though. Tigerseal is another brand and there are a few others which are a bit
cheaper but just as good IMO.

Silicone will be fine if you are riveting as well.
