Windscreen aluminium channel
I'd welcome any advice: a) What size should the channel be? and b) where on earth can I find it? I've failed to find either answer. Also,
what shape should the rubber seals for the glass and the scuttle be?

Thanks - I'll try him. I'm just surprised that no-one else seems to have asked the same question. Given the number of us building
Locosts......(or maybe not so many build from a pile of steel, as I am !!) you'd have thought the info would be lurking on the web somewhere.

I think quite a few of us buy screens ready made cos they're an important part of the look of the car and it can be difficult to make (glass can
be difficult to get hold of, bending the channel can lead to crimping and wrinkling etc)....
I think it's understandable why many people throw some money at this problem. After all, you can get a 2nd hand Caterham screen for about £100
quid including escutcheons (side supports)....
Compared to the time it takes to find a windscreen, get it cut down to size and shape, find some appropriate ali channel, make up the former and the
bending tool, bend it to shape without wrinkling, find some rubber section for the windscreen / scuttle join....
That's not to say that people haven't made their own screens- just that many people decide that it's one bit they'd rather let
someone else do!!!

There are a lot of us building from a pile of steel, but then we fit a aeroscreen, because it's easier.
