mudflaps for cycle wings
can you get mudflaps for cycle wings? I get a lot of debris up round the rear arches which means the paint chips and they are always manking.
can you buy something to use as a little discreet mudflap on the front wings to stop them throwing up crap?
cheers

"yes" is the short answer. The longer answer is that
You can get ready shaped mudflaps which look a bit naff as they've got a tail and are often rather stiff and plasticky.
Rally-style flaps are quite flexible - you could probably cut one down to make two cycle wing flaps
I tried a lorry mudflap cut down - worked oK but they were a bit stiff
Currently using cut-to-shape tyre treads which curve slightly at the edge to fit the edge of the cycle wing and look a bit different . The only prob
is that the twist a bit due to the steel reinforcing threads
Anyway - lots of options!

This is a full sheet, but if you give them a call you can buy actual mud flaps!

carbon mods stuff is perfect tho a little pricey. would match the carbonmods wings tho!
I dont want to fit arch protectors I think they ruin the look of a 7 especially with my colour scheme.

I got a cheap rubber car mat and cut out two mud flaps and used those, looked quite good and worked.

I had some black plastic sheet off cuts left over so just used those. They are black with a dimpled textured pattern. Look OK and work a treat. Even
when lots of water on the road they control the spray and stones a lot. I made them long so i could shorten and trim as required.
Dont halfords sometimes sell mudflap material? My offcuts came from a plastic stockists.
Conveyor belt material would work well or as said above thick rubber sheet.
Old Landrover mud flaps are large and should cut down easily.

Get an old tyre from the shop and cut them out of that, you want a nice tread pattern though
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
