Does MK fibreglass fit a Stuart Taylor body?

I have a Stuart Taylor, that I am thinking of changing all the bodywork on.

The difference in price between ST and MK is marked (well over £100).

So, can I use MK bodywork on a ST chassis? I really would like to hear from people who know definitely, and/or have done the same.

Also, can you get MK panels in any colour you want? ST has 75 colours, so most colours covered I would think.

Many thanks,

Mark

Standard Chassis

I've seen postings on here that state the MK F.G. does fit a standard 'book' chassis, but then I've seen that MK's chassis is 2" deeper than standard. Sorry I can't be more specific but if you want to view the subject click HERE

Hope it is of some help!

I've built a book chassis one inch taller as per Martin Keenan's instructions on the phone.

I then purchased their nose cone and scuttle and they fit very well.

Cheers lads,

So the question is..is the Stuart Taylor also book plus 1 inch!

I'm hoping someone can tell me catagorically that both the MK and ST dimensions are the same because one coppied the other (as if...)

If this nugget is not forthcoming, anyone fancy doing some MK measuring?

Cheers

You are in Leeds. I'm in Morley.

If you are on the road why not come round in it.

I've got a loose nose cone and scuttle you could offer up.

My mobile is 07736 202101 and I will be in the garage from 7.00 tonight..... and it's a quite warm evening.

Cheers Vince.

Sadly I've just taken my car off the road for the winter (well the tax ran out and clutch cable snapped so thought i may as well! Now I've started the promised winter tart up, so the seats are out too!)

Joel - you still got that trailer ? - If i can, I'll get the thing over sometime soon Vince, or perhaps i could borrow them for an evening?

Hippy - I feel Northern, even though i don't sound it. Cant help where you were born can you?

Your Parents should have been more considerate.

And I have noticed your abscence from the Yorkshire meets.

Part timer

Cheers

Sorry for missing confession father. (Oirish accent off)

I have been working in the midlands for ages. Luckily for you, i have changed jobs and will be popping down very soon!

The Christmas do in fact! Ah, was it only a year ago that i met all your smiling faces for the first time?

(Misty eyes wiped)

Now, anyone got an answer for me?!

i got an answer for ya, but not a good one! a canny scotsman took the trailer last week, for the princely sum of £520, though a tenner disappeared before i got to the bank

no help there i'm afraid! probably easier to borrow the cone, vince willing!

No Problem borrowing the nose cone. What if I bring it round in the Tin top in exchange for a can of lager..... just the one officer.... honest.
