Bonnet catch fixing

What is the best way of attaching the standard SVA proof catches to fiberglass. Do you rivet them or bolt them? I thought of riveting but would it need load spreading on the inside or rivet would pull through?

I have the diagrams that were posted on here but they don't show how far below the edge of the panel they should be fitted. I guess it could vary depending on if you have sticky back foam on the bonnet opening or not. I have some offcuts I will practice with.

What do you suggest?

Hi I riveted mine and used a appropriate washer the other side for spreading the load

Get a piece of wood and drill the brackets into it with wood screws.

It takes half the time of doing tests with offcuts, but you can still check on the "strength" of the Latch closure, and also vary the gap between bonnet and side panel by just using a marker pen to indicate thickness...
