Dzus Alignment

Is it normal for the alignment of the slot on a "Dzus" fastener to be at a random angle ?

Received a pair today, which will make constructing the brackets interesting

Don't understand your logic - all it will mean is the slot wont be a similar angle when fastened. You can still have the bracket spring holes and plate location rivets in the same place?

Having said that all mine seem to be at the same angle. Maybe the machining was borked.

I'm with you on that one ken555. Why FFS can they not machine them all the same. Call me picky but a pair, or worse still, a row of Dzus fasteners should all have the slots in the same direction when "closed". That is the sort of detail that does matter.

Maybe a market for selling "Matched pairs" of DZus fasteners.

Hi

In my experience Dzus fasteners are machined identically to allow a degree of confidence in their fastened condition to be assured visually, (it's an aircraft engineering norm). Looks like the ones you have could be copies or seconds.......no doubt you wouldn't have paid 'aircraft' prices.

Have you tried turning the 'spring bar' 90 degrees?

Sorry just looked at the pics again....ignore the comment about turning the spring bar.
