I have seen various chassis (haynes)on the forum they all look similar but which body fits on which chassis? trying to start a project but am getting more and more confused.

Best sort it, because mistakes in choosing can be expensive. If you are really confident, you can always build the body yourself.

If by "Haynes" you are refering to the latest book, "how to build a sports car on a budget" then getting bodywork is not that easy yet.
MK engineering could supply most panels but they seem to have lost interest in the roadster and are busy pushing their single seater jobbie, i know someone that was trying to get a nose but there were constant delays, might be ok now though.

GTS were making moulds for panels to fit this car but only the nose cone got finished.

I'm sure i read on here that Triton who posts on here regularly is doing a complete set of panels for the Haynes car but I don't know if its ready yet, I expect he will be along shortly to let you know or you could U2U him.

i haven't heard of anyone else doing bodywork for this car.
Cheers

Also, the tiger avon body doesn't even fit the tiger Avon chassis properly so you've got no chance of getting it onto the Haynes car.!
Seriously though, the Tigers have completely different dimensions to everyone else.

He certainly is which surprised him no end after saying a few years back..."not going to do 7's ever again"...the Haynes is 44" wide where kits like the Locost are mostly 42" wide..
Remaking the nose, bonnet and scuttle at the moment as first one didn't cut the mustard with the fussy oik....

Mark...

The "Locost is the chassis described in the book "how to build a sports car for £250", this one has been out for a number of years and the basic dimensions are what most of the current 7-inspired companies base their cars on.
Aries, mak1, mk, gts, luego, robinhood Zero, etc etc.
Pretty much all of these companies will be able to supply bodywork to you but try and get a look at all of them as the styling is slightly different for each one.
With regard to the flatpack, i assume you are talking about the one on ebay, this is the Locost kit and not the newer Roadster.
To summarise you have 4 options. (as long as we keep it simple)
1, Locost from original book (most companies use a version of this)
2, Haynes Roadster, similar to locost but 2 inches wider.
3, McSorley +4, this is the same as the locost but 4 inches wider, gts do a version of this as a kit.
4, +442, this is 4 inches wider, 4 inches longer and 2 inches taller, not too many people do this one as it does look a lot bigger and in my oppinion slightly wrong.

There are many other sizes and variations on the above basic themes, you sound like you are quite new to the whole 7 thing so my best advise is to keep watching these pages for lots of helpful info and also get along to some shows during the summer and go to some local club meets, there are bound to be a few local to you.
If you see one anywhere don't be afraid to just go up and ask questions, nearly all kit owners love to talk about there pride and joy.
For gods sake though, don't go up to a Caterham owner and ask him what type of kit he has got, he will be so enraged that he might well drop dead on the spot!

Jason at Armoto does a flat pack for most if not all the variations, including the McSorley and the Haynes.

He's a registered trader on here as well
