grp cloth
Hi guys
Don't hold it against me but I just watched a episode of "pimp my ride" and they were doing a speaker box in the back of the car,
They made MDF templates and then draped some sort of cloth over the templates to blend it all in and fill in the gaps and then painted resin on it to
make it hard .
Anyone know what is the cloth is ???

When I've seen 'em do that, they used common-or-garden fleece

probably a light grade glass cloth it comes in tons of different weights. May have been just a glass tissue and some P90 filler. Thats a crap show btw

In the past I have used cotton bed sheet for making r/c planes, very cheap, strong and shatter proof expecially if epoxy resin is used. Once painted
you can't seen the flower pattern

Yea I was looking for a sharp stick to poke in my eyes then I saw them doing fibre glassing , so I had to see how they do it .
Think Ill play with some cotton sheet and wood to try and make a bonnett scoop over the weekend.

You can use plenty of cloths - especially if you are just trying it out.
Try and old cotton Tshirt!

ETA - there's also a couple of good DIY's on t'internet, notably one by a bunch of girls is quite well written.
