whe her hey!!! some good news
02GF74 - 16/9/09 at 09:00 AM

amidst all the gloom and doom of celeb chefs kicking the bucket and cars going up in flame, there is a glimmer of good news.

using 1200 wet'n'dry and Farcla G10 (?) polishing compound, followed by a polish with a wax crayon rubbed onto soft cloth. I removed the scratch from the G.A.O.B. CD so it no longer jumps

must have taken 2 hours, including playing the CD to see if it has stopped jumping.

this is probalby the deepest scratch I have successfully removed, better than my attempt at a David Gray CD that became dished due to overheating when using a Dremel polishing mop.

The trick is to use fine polishing compond and rub the surface to and fro in a radial direction.

but is their music any good or just a load of cr~p? and 2hrs to get it working…your day seems very full

Well done that man - that's 2 hours of life well spent then

No idea on the GAOB material, but IMHO a "dished" David Grey CD is the best sort of David Grey CD, bar one that's been cross-cut shredded.

Each to their own though

hey - I gotta do something in between watching the paint dry and hacksawing through an 10 mm piece of angle iron!
