Out for the first time

Just a couple of pics to help keep the faith

I started the build 11th Feb and have totalled 8 days on the car since then. I think being realistic, if you had a week off work and put in full days, you could get to this stage within the week; hold ups waiting for bits asside.

Still to do:
Engine/Electrics
Connect electrics
Fit rad and pipes
Tunnel/Boot cover
Lighting/Dash
Wings
Seats/Belts

Then odds and sods for SVA

I thought the Yamaha wheel centres were a neat trick too.

My Daughter has taken over production of the damn fine Triton race seats and her contact email is emmatrs@live.co.uk.

Looks fantastic Richie! Again, Where did you get the wheel centres from?

Also there seems to be a lot of water in the bottom of the car! You leave it in the rain?

Are you going to drill any drain holes for very wet weather?

Chris.

Nice Job Richie

Mine was finished and sva'd in 13 working days from me with some help from the MNR guys, + 1-2 days from Marc, and that includes fitting the floorpan and post SVA setup, ready to get it to me...

BUT

I had a lot of parts on hand and some extra tools which helps..

Yours is an astounding job really given your situation, so you are to be congratulated...

I had a lot of time wasted with the dry sump system, and all the headaches that added...

Not gonna be too long before you are ready for SVA

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

Yam wheel centres: Actually just the domed rubbery type decals fitted to my TSW centres. Theyre availble from this guy on eBay in either gold or silver and in 35 and 58mm. The 58mm ones were exactly the right size for the centres.

The water was just from a quick wash down, now dried out. I wasnt going to let you see it all dusty now was I
I wouldnt drill any holes in the pan unless you have a grommet which blanks it off when not needed. Road spray will get in just as easily as water gets out.

Thanks again guys, I hope its encouraging to see what can be achieved with some fore thought. Like GMan, I had just about everything I needed ready in boxes, all donor parts reconditioned and waiting.
Marc was kind enough to fit the 2 inner tunnel panels and most of the suspension was supplied ready assembled (rose joints on, balljoints fitted) which was a pleasant suprise and saved some more time.

Ive had a few headscratchers with suspension and stuff but Ive not lost too many days.

I best get some updates on the build website from todays tinkerings.
Rgds

Richie

The 8 days was a guess really. I worked half days here and there which would come to about 8 days in total. The full days I did get on the car were no longer than about 11 am - 6pm with frequent brews and sarnies
