Was it a cold call? From the website, it sounds like an ambulance-chasing style operation...

If they called you unsolicited then they are what our American cousins call ambulance chasers.
If you have worked in heavy or other noise industry then problems with high frequency hearing loss or Tinnitus tend show up from middle age
onwards.

The fact that you heard the phone ringing in the first place would tell me that it was a wasted call on their part.......

Had a similar call some time ago, it would appear on the surface to be the new PPI etc etc. However they did have some info/background on my
employment history which got me thinking. A visit to my GP and another to the Audiologist showed that I do have hearing damage, I am now pursuing a
claim against my previous employer which so far is proving pretty straight forward as they have already accepted claims from former employees. If you
feel that you have a genuine claim then forget the ambulance chasers and go see your GP.

When i worked in heavy engineering the union used to organise hearing tests for the older blokes, it was then just a case of listing
previous employers and dates etc to get compo for deaf lugs. IIRC average payout back then was around £1500 (25 yrs ago)
Might look into it cos my hearing is now shocking, with constant ringing in one ear.

I hate these types of people with a vengance. They are sucking the life out of industry and then we wonder why jobs are being exported.
Where I worked as a Young man we regularly blew out brake drums, hit trucks with big ringing hammers but we were young and indistructable.
Now the law says it is no longer fine to provide safety gear, you have to make sure at all times it is worn or the company is liable.
All these types of firms has done has provided easy money opportunities to many.

I tried the Tinnitus helpline and that's all I got as well A friend of ours was a miner and he got £4000 a few years ago for his industrial
deafness.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Since 1 April 2013 it has been unlawful for a "referrer" of personal injury work to a solicitor to charge a fee..... Since then these
middlemen have been looking at ways to sidestep the law. They are the most appalling parasites. I have heard of referrers charging for
"advertising" claiming that they pass on details for nothing.
This is all a consequence of a foolish decision to abolish an age old rule that prohibited English Lawyers from entering into conditional fee
agreements. When legal aid was available the system was self funding and claims were kept under control. The legal professions both opposed the
changes.
I would not have anything to do with these people. If you have a hearing problem - see your GP. If you believe that your employer is responsible - see
a solicitor.

What the hell is it with this compensation culture?
YOU chose to do a job. YOU chose to do it without the appropriate safety gear. YOU are now suffering the consequences. Why the hell should your
employer have to pay for YOUR mistake?
This sort of thing really grinds my gears.
