Fuel tank design ideas???

I'm considering having a custom tank fabricated.

I need to give some thought specifically to baffles and a sump collector pot.

Has anybody got any ideas on the placement/number of baffles and the size/shape etc of the sump collector pot, plus any clever ideas that can ensure a constant fuel supply under hard corning. I do not want the complication of using an external swirlpot and a second pump.

Thanks in advance for any help.

My tank from MNR had a square box about 40x40x40 with a 8mm tail on the side welded to the bottom of the tank under a 25mm hole.

No baffles and never had any problems with it.

Make sure the flow and return in the sump allow enough space between the top of the fuel pipe and the bottom of the tank.
Mine are just about an inch from the bottom the tank and it's a bit tight on the chassis rail.

Thanks guys.

I have seen a tank whereby the sump (which is approx. 110mm x 110mm by 70mm deep) is welded to the underside of the tank and has a 1" hole allowing fuel into it from the tank.

This got me to thinking, is a flat hole as effective as having a hole but with a piece of pipe downwards into the sump at preventing the fuel passing back out of the hole under hard cornering?

Horizontal baffles, it will try and slosh a lot of fuel left to right
