return fuel line

Ive just dicovered that I need to fit a return fuel line from the regulator to the tank, whats the best way of fitting the new line in to the tank, has anybody done this?? does it matter where the line goes in??etc,

I drilled my tank and fitted a return pipe union from Car builder solutions. I can't find the actual product, but look on this page:
http://www.nfauto.co.uk/fuel_tanks.htm

the second picture down shows the return pipe union.

I put mine at the top of the tank, on a flat area. My first thought was to connect it to the filler neck, but it's hard to get a good seal on a curved surface.
