megga settings

got my new lappy today,ive got my mega squirt running pretty ok,ive downloaded the empty boxes? just need values.
can i get these from my ecu?
what sort of coms cable do i need and where does it plug into the back of the lappy.
NOTE i am a compo numpty so no long words please

you should of said you needed a cable i'd of put on in with the top mate.

What empty boxes?? I guess you mean you have downloaded the software. Connect it to your MS ECU with th ignition switched on so it has a 12v feed. This should open up the settings/map you have programmed into the ECU. Click File then Save As and save the map as you wish. Whenever you mke any changes just make sure you select the Burn to ECU option and remember to save the map after any changes.

Comms cable needs to be a straight through serial cable (ie an extension cable) not a cross over cable as is used (or was when jesus was a boy!!) to connect serial modems etc.
