Megasquirt zetec, Ignition question

I just decided to poo gears in my build from bike carbs to Bike ITB with megasquirt.

I figured I'd use the spark feature as well, with an EDIS controller and stock coilpack

but I noticed that the missing tooth on the flywheel and the sensor location is about 90 degrees out.

is there a fix for this or do I have to mount a new 36-1 wheel on the crank pully?

I've just pinched this from some FAQ's on www.ExtraEFI.co.uk:

: Hi, I am currently modifying my kit car to take a 2L Ford Zetec with bike throttle bodies, would the MegaSquirt you have run this? Do you need to fit a separate relay board or any other parts? Finally is it difficult to set the items up or is it fairly straight forward when using the software. Thanks John.

A: Hi there, yes this will control a Zetec engine, indeed there are many Zetec's running with the MS ECU. The V3.0 pcb has a built in VR conditioner, which means you can use your original 36-1 toothed wheel and crank sensor(VR Sensor), as fitted to most Ford EFI setups as well as many other vehicles. As for setting up the MegaSquirt, I've written loads of manuals for setting up, tuning, wiring, etc for the MS, see HERE. The more you read and understand the easier it will be to set up. I'm not going to tell you its easy, but it's certainly not hard if you put the effort in and it is very rewarding, Phil

I've been reading, but untill you posted that I didn't understand.

so I'll keep the stock coil and sensor, the edis module is eliminated, and they are plugged directly into the Megasquirt module (as long as its v3.0)

Hi there,
if you have an EDIS module then keep it and use that to trigger the MS ECU, it is less prone to noise and is very reliable, an MS ECU to drive an EDIS module is also cheaper, see here:
