ZX9 Speedo Issue

I have a 1996 zx9 B3 engine in my Indy build. Was looking to use the zx9 bike clocks and there are some on ebay, however the B series uses a speedo cable driven from the front wheel hub. As I won't have that how can I run with that set of clocks and where would I connect the cable ?? How can I drive the cable?? Any ideas other than using separate clocks and a digital sensor driven speedo?

Cheers

I am trying to make sense of your question. You want to use clocks that have electronic speedo?

Then you need a speedo sensor that reads propshaft rotations, usually either by sening magnets on the prop (hall effect) or propshaft bolt heads (inductive) type. You would need a speedo healer to make the pulse rate comaptible.

search for speedo healer - plenty of stuff about it.

If you don't have a prop (RWD) then you would need to find another point where to mount the sensoe e.g. drive shaft.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I believe the speedo on the zx9 b3 clocks is driven via a cable from a drive unit or geared unit in the front wheel hub rather than via a sensor as per the C series engines/clocks. If it was off the engine I would be fine but as its off the hub which I don;t have is there a way to drive the speedo from the prop or driveshaft other than throwing out the idea of the original clocks and going with a hall sensor and suitable aftermarket speedo?
