Would you buy Savage Stop Switch or Rain Light Switch
sucksqueezebangblow - 9/11/08 at 05:00 PM

I need both a Savage STOP switch and a Savage rain light switch. They do not make them but have offered to make a minimum order of 100-off of each for me as a switch insert which will fit any standard round aluminium savage switch. If I go ahead I'll need to sell most of them to recover the cost. If I go ahead would any of you be interested in purchasing either or both of these inserts at about £4 each including postage? You are NOT making any comittment to buy by answering this poll.

silly question, what do you mean by stop switch?

I won't be using savage switches unfortunately, but just wondering what a stop switch is

The inserts are just standard ali...I'm sure someone with access to a waterjet could cut you one out in minutes....

Common on motorcycles they allow you to stop the engine without turning off the power to the car. Particularly useful if you have for example oil pressure failure, particularly at night. Some ignition switches do this but I have an on/off ignition key-switch and a start button.

Great news, I just got a message from the manufacturers that they may be putting a Savage STOP switch into production! I'll post more details when/if I get them.

Is it to turn on rain if you are driving, prefect for when white van driver is 2 ft behind you on the motorway? If so, I would like 20.

A rain light is a red light, attached to the back of race cars, that are switched on in rain to stop drivers slamming into the back of each other. You'll see them in Formula 1 GP for example (they also flash in the pits when the speed limiter is on). I've got a rain light to use on track for safety as much as anything. I'm rigging it to act as a high level stop light on the road and the rain light switch when activated will switch it be constantly on for use in rain on the track.
