What would people suggest for the Ignition advance during cranking..

currently set to 12deg btdc -

Most modern tintop engines with mapped ignitions use between 5 & 8 crank BTDC static degrees for starting -- once its over a few hundred rpm you can ramp it up. Less advance makes easier starting but it can also make the engine more likely to stall when trickling in traffic.

That's the way Megajolt has been set up to work - one cell of the map is set to have very low advance, to give the starter an easy ride on initial turnover. As soon as you get above the rpm for that cell (usually around 750rpm) then everything gets set to normal advance.

My x-flow is around 5 - 7 BTDC for start-up.
