We have a Racetech oil pressure gauge that came with a very long thin nylon line connecting the instrument with the sender. Ideally we would like to shorten it, but I am not sure how. Can I just pull it off, cut to size and force it back on? Or is it installed using some sophisticated tooling or heated maybe? We don't want to mess up the thing, so if it should not be done, we will route the line somehow, not a big problem... Thanks for ay ideas!

question is how is it attached to the sender and the guage?

Is it just pushed on, glued on or some screw on compresison fitting?

the copper tubes were easy to cut down, all you had to do was remove it at the gauge end, unsolder the knob end, cut tube and resolder.

depending on engine - see yesterday;s question about oil pressure, the fitting has to be pretty sound to take at least 80 psi and not fail.

It looks as if it were just pressed on the fittings, I don't know if it is glued or anything, hence my question to see if anyone has experience with it. Thanks!
