Started my ST engine today and checking the ignition map I've noticed the KPA gauge goes up to 255, yet when I calibrate the TPS it only goes up
to 100.
My MJLI map load bins go up to 253.. downloaded a new map that only goes up to 90 and it seems to rev easily now.
Would the load bin going up to 253 and the tps only going to 100 have caused a loss of power at high rpm??
What RPM & LOAD bins are you peeps using?
Cheers,
Steve
Yep. If your tps only goes to 100 then it wont see the right bins for the rev range.
Use this to set your load bins
i thought KPA was kilo pascals, as in air pressure?
and i thought the TPS would only go to 100 (ie 100%) and in the calibration, you set it so that 0=0 and 100 on the tps =253 on the MJ?
KPA gauge goes up to 255,
Thats a MAP range for a turbo engine. Normal aspirated have a MAP range of 0 -100 ish
Paul
just checked MJ, mine goes up to 100, and the load guage says TPS %, 0-100.
reckon you've got yours set for MAP sensor

Gotcha! I realise now I was using a setup for MAP while using a TPS.
The new map I've downloaded should fettle that and all I need then is decent advance settings.
Anyone got a blacktop with bike carb map??
I'm also wondering about the advance once the VVT is activated.
Long shot but where can I get a look at the standard Ford map?
Ta,
Steve
Sorry to hijack but I am wondering if anyone can tell me a bit more about MegaJolt. I wanna use a 2L Blactop and a set of ZZR 1100 Cars
Where is a good starting point to get this puppy up and running and exactly what is needed? Or a site that I can read up on it all.
Cheers,
O
Here's the supplier
Autosport Labs
Available as a kit or ready-made.
It's a control unit for Ford's EDIS ignition system. It replaces the distributor, and gives you total control over the engine timing.
It's a very good product, and the creator/supplier (Brent Picasso) gives a huge amount of support to users.
