Wiring Spot Lamps
timex - 2/1/09 at 06:43 PM

Just done this diagram for wiring up two rearward facing work lights mounted onto the Rollbar and two forward facing spot lights mounted onto the Bullbar on my L200 Pickup.

Does it look ok to you?

I will be using higher Amp wire than the fuses used.

Just dont want to set fire to my pride and Joy

A little bigger for you!

I would possibly fit a fat fuse closer to the battery in the feed to the front lamp relay. Just to protect the cable up to the relay should the relay have a fault. Belt and braces and all that!

As above, I'd fuse the front lamps on the supply side of the relay.

Like this?

Yep, but you don't need the 15a fuses on the feeds to the front lamps as well.

that looks good.

I wold ditch the 1 A fuses too.

re: 25 A and two 15 A fues.

you only need one or t'other.

The reason I put two seperate fuses for the front two lights was so that if there is a problem with one I dont loose them both. Also I will know which one as got the problem to start with!

would that work?

Thanks, Phill

Not counting bulbs, the most likely problem with the circuit is probably connections and with the 15a fuses your adding 4 extra ones that you don't need.
