I just went to visit a friend 12 miles away. I got to his house and the parking was very tight so he guided me in, I opened the front two windows so I
could hear him. I parked up fine and then the electric windows wouldn't go back up. I thought maybe I'd caught the window lock but it
wasn't that. I tried ignition on, off, started engine etc but no help.
I got the manual out, interior fuse box has a fuse for the electric windows and electric mirrors (these weren't working either) Yes! Must be
that, whipped it out and it looked fine :S Put in a new one anyway and no luck. Then engine bay fuse box... there's another fuse for the electric
windows, looked fine, replaced anyway... no luck
Any ideas? I had to drive back with the windows down and the heater maxed out, currently on the driveway with a tarp over it
The windows on my old ford puma often stick. I have to lower them slightly and guide them up by hand, pushing them to the side to keep them in the
tracks.

Might help if we knew what car you have?
Whoops! Volvo V40 diesel
On Renaults you have to press the remote "lock" button and jammed windows go up by 10mm. Press unlock, start car, switch off, repeat....
Either that or pull on the top of the glass whilst pressing the "up" window button to unlock it. Don't pull too hard or you'll
pull the glass out of the channel....
I tried the lock/unlock thing earlier and unfortunately there's no glass whatsoever to grab on to
Thanks for the ideas though
I'm thinking it must be one of the switches for the windows that has gone...
A mate called in a few weeks back in his BIG car. It had this very problem.
Turned out there was a faulty relay in the door.
A 99p locost one from my extensive stock of parts that I have bought but never needed solved the problem.
