earthing query
markyb - 6/2/09 at 08:22 PM

electrics arent my thing (thats why I bought a premade loom !) so need to check with the great and the good on an earthing query I have.

I have an earth for my stop/tail light but none for my rear indicator and just wanted to check is it safe to splice a cable into the existing earth for my indicator or should I run a seperate cable to an earthing point

thanks

Which ever is easier

Splice one in if you want but what I've done is run a short cable from the indicator and earthed it onto the chassis at the nearest point.
As bt says, whatever is easiest.

I used one of the fixing screws as an earthing point (my rear panel is aluminium) - each of the earth connecting wires has an eye on the end, and they all get clamped down together.
