Building your own loom - wire sizes
supercat - 9/2/09 at 04:25 PM

Hi all,

I'm building my on loom - does anyone know of any guides that show recommended wire sizes for various things?

Cheers,
James

Vehicle wiring products in their wire section, each size of wire has usage information.

Are you sure you can do it cheaper than, say, the Premier Wiring Loom?

I looked at doing my own but by the time I'd bought a bunch of different wire colours a all the connectors is wasn't much cheaper.... then there was the effort involved.

The Premier Wiring Loom really is very good.

Not wanting to put you off a DIY job... just make sure it's worth it for the time it'll take you!

Cheers,
James

I'll second both the VWP recommendation and the comment that it won't save you any money - I bought a loom for the last project - for this one I've made my own - no saving, but I understand every bit of it, and its exactly what I want....

Its not hard to make and imho better than the of the shelf loom.

You dont have extras that arnt needed.

just look at your tintop to compare.
