Installing mega jolt it recommends shielded cable from the vr sensor is this correct or have others used standard cable and any issues doing so.

Thanks

i bought some audio cable from maplins. like microphone cable but thicker wire. i haven't used it yet though, and i don't know if standard cable would do it well enough, but thats where i got mine from

Don't make the mistake of thinking It'll be Ok with normal cable. Get some shielded stuff. Most Megasquirters will tell you the same it ain't worth the bother of ripping it all out again at a later date. Most squirt interference problems come from unshielded cables.

You could always use twisted core cable. Otherwise yes, microphone cables are screened and quite thin. I used that on my VR speedo sensor and it works fine. Don't forget to only earth one end of the screen...

Best to get the actual wire and plug from the engine bay loom.

Cable needs to be shielded and grounded at ONE end.

Make sure you earth the cables as per the Megajolt diagram, i had to completely rewire my bought setup because it would just drop out at any given moment.
Very nasty driving at speed then loosing all revs, would come back but not properly for a few seconds, then off again, i was never sure when it would happen.
