Acewell Temp Sensor (Zetec)
coozer - 23/2/09 at 08:28 PM

On my zetec the Acewell supplied temp sensor sits in still coolant at the bottom of the thermostat housing.... the reading is miles behind the actual.

Question is, will the Acewell work with, and give the correct reading wired up to the Ford sensor unit on top of the thermostat??

Don't know if the Ford sensor will work, but can't you put the Acewell sender in the top?

This would require an adaptor but should be possible - so long as the sensor / adaptor combo doesnt allow an air pocket to leave the sender dry

or get a Focus thermostat housing which is blank at the top, and drill / tap to fit the Acewell sensor.

Got one! took it off as it has a push in type sensor with a circlip, no good whatsoever...

Like the idea of an adapter BUT haven't got a clue on these inch size threads, what they are or how to measure them....

I drilled and tapped the top of my Focus housing [which had no sensor in and was blank] to fit the Acewell sensor.

I'll check the size, but my cheapo machine mart tap set had the right size in it.
