Has anyone ever measured the current carried by the operating wire on a crossflow starter solenoid?
Not the main starter current - just in the wire that goes from the starter switch to the tab on the side of the solenoid.
My guess is 5 - 10 amps...

7A on a Pinto David wouldnt have thought a Crossflow would be a great deal different.

Thanks for that - I'm rewiring behind the dash so that I have a separate starter button that can be linked into my so-called 'security system'. I just need to know that I won't mess up a number of relay contacts that are in the circuit (std auto relays, so ~40A contacts) and that the button rated for 10A won't get fried.
